Contemporary full calf with gilt title on red and green morocco labels on spine. *Rare two small contributions on East-Indian snakes, the first with 7 pp. and 2 fine folded engravings, the second with 7 pp., 1 folded engraving. Some more interesting contributions in this volume are: V. Rumford, An account of a curious phenomenon observed on the glaciers of Chamouny and an Enquiry concerning the Nature Heat and the mode of its communication; R. Woodhouse, On the integration of certain differential expressions with which problems in physical Astronomy are connected; Th. Knight, Experiments and observations on the motion of the sap in trees; W. Herschel, Continuation of an account of the Changes that have happened in the relative situation of double Stars; S. Tennant, On two metals found in the black powder remaining after the solution of Platina; W. Wollaston, On a new Metal found in crude Platina a.o. Papers no. IX and X are (partly) paginated out of sequence. There are no references found to plate 6, which is lacking. The herpetological articles are complete.
