Wilhelm Wattenbach (1812-1897), German historian and paleograph, professor in history at Heidelberg and Berlin. His most important works are “Deutschlands Geschichtsquellen im Mittelalter bis zur Mitte des 13. Jahrhunderts”, 1858 and “Anleitung zur lateinischen Paläographie”, 1869. He also wrote several travel accounts.
