Göttingen, Henrici Dietrich, 1807. 8vo. (10),+ 114,+ (2) pp. Contemporary marbled wrappers. Owners signature of Isaac Samuel Widebeck, dated Uppsala 1820, and old library stamp from Elementarskolan. In Arabic. Gustaf Knös (1773-1828), studied in Göttingen and for a while in Paris under Sacy. Professor in Uppsala 1814-1828. Beside his large Syriac Chrestomaty, this, his edition of “The History of the 10 Viziers” with a Latin translation, was to become Knös’ major work, before he, following a spiritual crisis, lost all interest in philology. This is the Arabic edition of the text, a Latin translation with comments was also published, partly in dissertation-form, in 1815.
