Second edition, first published in 1654. Johanns Andreas Quenstedt (1617-88) was a German lutheran dogmatic theologist. Beside theological works he also wrote this history of learning and learned men, geographically ordered, from both Europe (Denmark on pp. 247-250, Sweden 250-252), Asia and Africa. Kanslirådet, historikern m.m. Anders Anton von Stiernman (1695-1765) byggde upp ett ansenligt bibliotek. Detta övergick sedermera huvudskligen i svärsonen Olof Celsius ägo.
