VD17 1:079093A. Second reprint of Typotius’ edition of the emblematic collection of Octavio de Stada. The first part was first published by Octavio de Strada with engravings by Aegidius Sadeler in 1600, and with the comments by Typotius posthumously published in Prag 1601, with the continuation of the second and third part 1602-03. The first reprint by Schönewetter was published in Frankfurt in 1642. Emblematical representations of all wordly and spiritual rulers of the world. The first volume contains national political emblems; the second eccclesaistical; and the last royal. Jacob Typotius (ca. 1540-1600) come to Sweden and was from 1578 royal secretary to Johan III. He was imprisoned for unknown reasons in Åbo in Finland 1579 or 1581 and relased after 12 years in prison. He left Sweden in 1597 and become royal historian to Rudolph II in Prague.
