Octavo. (22.5x14cm) with folding map. Bound in simulated vellum. An account of Campbell's journey to China and Japan, among the Aleutian Islands and along the coast of Alaska. Of great value in its description of the Sandwich Islands, to which is added a vocabulary of the language. After a shipwreck Campbell got both feet frozen which required amputation. A report of the surgeon who undertook the operation is added. Series: Bibliotheca Australiana 50.
