Octavo in original gilt lettered brown cloth, endpaper maps, with 4 plates (both sides) from photos, etc. Previous owner's name on front free endpaper with a couple closed tears and minor soiling to dust jacket. Biography of Peter Erasmus (1833-1931) guide, interpreter and preacher who guided Dr. Hector 1857-9, was an interpreter at the signing of Treaty No. 6 1876 and government interpreter on Pakan reserve at Whitefish, later brought news of the Frog Lake massacre to Edmonton, 1885. Introduction by Irene M. Spry.
