A commemorative history of the Curtiss P-40 Warhawk, complete with biographical profiles of the veterans belonging to the P-40 Warhawk Pilots Association. Developed from the pre-war radial-engined P-36 Hawk, the P-40 was an excellent fighter-bomber that could more than hold its own in air-to-air combat against the Axis fighters it encountered, and is notable for having served in every single front of World War II. Signed by three World War II fighter pilots on the title page: Charles M. "Sandy" McCorkle (ace, 11 victories), Herschel H. "Herky" Green (ace, 18 victories), and Robert H. Wehrman. Glossy pictorial boards, issued without a dust jacket. A fine copy.
