Muir, John.

NOTES ON MY JOURNEYING IN CALIFORNIA'S NORTHERN MOUNTAINS.

1974 Endpaper map. Ashland, Oregon: Lewis Osborne, 1974. Limited to 700 numbered copies. A fine reissue of the "Mt. Shasta" chapter from "Picturesque California" (1888). Includes Muir's account of Shasta in winter, hunting wild sheep and mule deer, the lava beds made famous by the Modoc War, and the wild bees native to the region. Hand-bound in gray buckram, with blue stamping. Plain paper dust jacket a bit soiled and shelfworn; otherwise a very good copy. Kimes, W.F. & M.B.: John Muir: A Reading Bibliography, #442.
