Thrasher, Marion, M.D.
LONG LIFE IN CALIFORNIA.
1915 1st Textual photographs. Chicago: M.A. Donohue & Company, [1915]. First edition. Having concluded in his foreword that "we have in the Golden State a longevity unparalleled in history," the author examines the lives of a several California centenarians and discusses the factors, including climate, marriage, abstinence, and effectively practiced eugenics, which "lead up to the maximum of human development." Inscribed and dated in the year of publication by the author on the front flyleaf. Green cloth binding, with gilt lettering. Some sparse pencil and ink markings to the contents, with a bookplate and a small ink notation to the front pastedown. Mild bump to the top edge of the first twenty pages. The boards are a bit shelfworn, with a faint stain to the bottom of the rear board, and a few small punctures to the front; otherwise a very good copy.
