Published the same year as Scott's 'Voyage of the Discovery', this classic voyage a narrative of the Swedish South Polar Expedition, 1901-1904. The first party to winter on the South American side of the Antarctic. Important scientific discoveries. The ship was crushed in the ice and the crew wintered at Paulet Island. Nordenskjold was also the first to sail the North East Passage.
