A lovely collection of antique photographs, taken of the oldest city in the United States. Considered the longest lasting settlement in the U.S., St. Augustine was founded in 1565 by the Spanish Kingdom. The city is named for St. Augustine's Day, September 8, the day upon which it was founded in that year. Contains views of the city gate, forts, cathedrals, Hotel Ponce de Leon (now home to Flagler College), historic homes and streetscapes, the Algazar, the Cordova, the Casino bathing pool, churches, riverviews, the railway and lighthouse. A admirable piece of Americana.
