Light notations on back boards and owner's signature on front board. Corners bent. Thumbprints and general wear. Published in celebration of Chautauqua's 50th anniversary. The Institution is still active, and attracts annual visitors who seek renewal rather than a vacation. Founded in 1874, it is a National Historic District where Roosevelt delivered his "I Hate War" speech in 1936. Gershwin composed music there, and its Hotel was one of the first in America to have electric lights. Visitors experience the best in culture, arts and intellectual pursuits during their stays.
