Translated by Joseph P. Donnelly, S.J. The author lived among the Flatheads, the Coeur d'Alenes, and the Blackfeet in the 1840's. Reproduces 285 of Point's period paintings of which 232 are in color. This is the only first-hand account of the Indians in the North American Rockies during that period.
