Includes listings of all regimental Commanders, rosters of all participants in the Battle of Little Big Horn (military, civilian, and Indian), Extracts of Orders for all unit citations, and much more. Covers the Indian Wars (1866-91); the Regiment along the Mexican border and in Cuba (1892-1917); the period from horses to horsepower (1918-41); and the transition period ending with inactivation of the Regiment (1942-57). One of the many appendices covers the history of the horse, "Comanche," the only living thing found on the Little Big Horn Battlefield; the history of the origin of the famous print, "Custer's Last Fight," etc.
