Overall, a fine copy. Story of Christian Barthelmess, army photographer at Fort Keogh, Montana. Barthelmess photographed the Western Plains in the late 19th century and thanks to the preservation of many of his photographs, this work is extremely well illustrated with period photos of Indians, Indian scouts, infantry and cavalry, officers and enlisted men, military wives, military posts and forts, etc., etc.
