Recollections of the Grabhorn Press

Los Angeles Primavera Press 1935, First edition. One of 70 copies printed by Gregg Anderson and Harold Hugo, of which only 30 were for sale. Tall, thin octavo. [6], 19pp. Photographic frontispiece. Printed in red & black. Cover and title decoration by Valenti Angelo. Cloth back, drab gray boards, pictorial device on front cover printed in red and blue, spine lettered in blue. A very fine, uncut copy. Anderson worked at the Grabhorn Press for a year and half until 1931 when the shop was temporarily closed. Later he got a job at the Meriden Gravure Company and eventually became the composing room foreman. There he met Harold Hugo who prevailed upon him to write his "Recollections of the Grabhorn Press" which is here offered.
