Spine heavily faded, else a fine copy. Limited to 500 copies printed by Patrick Reagh. Includes valuable information about the life of Pacheco taken from unpublished collections and old newspapers, much of it translated from Spanish. Also includes the first thorough investigation of California state documents relating to his career. Pacheco was the first and only Hispanic governor of the State of California, the first California Hispanic elected to Congress, and the first to be named a diplomat.
