San Francisco The Bancroft Company 1888, Volume 1, No, 3 (January, 1888). Octavo. 32pp. 2 plates, other illustrations and numerous ads throughout. Original pink wrappers lettered and illustrated in black. Minor fading to edges of wrappers, head and foot of spine with minor breaks. Overall, a fine copy. Includes most every subject including sections of "Illustrated Gift Books" and "Books for the Young." Also includes an interesting selection of "Duplicates of the Bancroft Library," many of which are today considered rare western and California historical works, as well as a listing of names of "Pacific Coast Book Buyers registered at the office of The Bancroft Company." Included among the nearly 200 names are many important and well-known California personalities.
