Minor wear to spine ends, else a fine copy in worn and faded dust jacket. Describes the method of silver plating discoveres by Thomas Boulsover in 1743, and how the technique was perfected over a period of 100 years, and Sheffield plate became a standard for fine silverwork throughout the world.
