No Place 1947, First edition. Although written in 1904, this extremely scarce title was not printeduntil 1947. 12mo. 40pp. Plain wrappers, stapled at spine (as issued). A mint copy, housed in brown cloth folder with printed paper spine label (as issued). Very few copies were produced. Very scarce, especially when found with the original cloth folder. The Chambers family crossed the plains in 1845, wintered at the Dalles, moved to Oregon City, and finally settled at Tualatin Plains. The author was the first to cross over the Cascade Falls with a flat-bottomed boat and was a participant in the Indian Wars of 1855-56. "This scarce little book was written in 1904, but not printed until 1947, when only a few copies were done" (Mintz).
