LOWELL, JAMES RUSSELL
A Year's Life.
Boston: C. C. Little and J. Brown, 1841. First edition. BAL 13037, without the exclamation point onpage 41 or the errata slip. Small 8vo, original tan boards (rebacked with matching paper with a new printed paper label). ¶ Lowell’s first regularly published book (preceded by a broadside and the pamphlet Class Poem), a collection of youthful poetry, with a dedicatory poem to a young woman, Una, who had spurned Lowell’s advances and brought him to the brink of despair. Very good copy.
