Clark D56, D58 & D60. 8vo, contemporary half calf, marbled boards, black morocco label, gilt lettering. Frontis portrait, five plates, including a map of Indian territories. ¶ The first appearances in print of three Hawthorne stories: “The Christmas Banquet”; “The Intelligence Office”; and “The Artist of the Beautiful.” Also includes contributions from H. T. Tuckerman and Charles Fenno Hoffman. Slightly rubbed; a very good copy.
