A Londres, et se trouve à Paris: Chez Pissot [&] Chez Desaint, 1767. First edition in French of TheVicar of Wakefield. Cf. NCBEL II, 1197, which notes the earliest Paris edition as 1779. 2 vols in 1, 12mo, recent calf spine and marbled boards (period style), gilt decorations and lettering. ¶ Published within a year of the first edition, and presumably printed in Paris. Upper corners of two leaves burnt, not touching the text. Early ink signature scratched out and replaced on the title page. Some scattered light foxing and staining; very good copy.
