First English edition. 8vo, original blind-stamped green cloth, gilt lettering. ¶ An early work by Godwin and one heavily influenced by his interest in Fourier, Goethe, Brook Farm and the Transcendentalists. A second series appeared later the same year. Cloth a little soiled and worn; very good copy.
