Block, page 127. 3 vols, 12mo, contemporary black quarter calf, marbled sides, gilt decorated and lettered spine. Half-titles present. ¶ A novel of contemporary Scottish domestic life, centered on the doings of Lord Dunallan’s family. Grace Kennedy (1782-1825) published at least five novels over the course of three years, beginning in 1822, almost all of which continued to be reprinted well after her death. Two signatures sprung in vol. 3; some light foxing and wear; very good copy.
