Not found in OCLC or in the NUC. 8vo, original pictorial wrappers, 52 pages. ¶ An interesting translation of Heyward and Gershwin’s now classic American opera, with colorful pictorial wrappers depicting two singing African Americans, published at the height of Nazi occupation of Denmark. The publisher Forlaget af 1939 was a well known firm during this period, and the translator Holger Bech also translated Wolf’s Look Homeward Angel. We have not been able to establish whether the opera was produced on stage. Wrappers slightly darkened; fine copy.
