Paris: Martinus, 1555. First separate Greek-Latin edition of the Hippocratic text. Bruni Celli 3437; Durling 2369; not in Wellcome (but acquired later); the NUC records no additional copies; OCLC adds one (Harvard). 16mo in eights, slightly later English calf with blind double-fillets and fleurons. Greek and Latin text on opposite pages. ¶ A handsome miniature edition of Hippocrates as edited by Plançon Guillaume, without the addition of Galen’s commentaries which often appeared with the text. Guillaume Plançon was a learned French physician and classical scholar. Edges rubbed; a few leaves with light stains to the outer edges; fine copy, enclosed in a cloth clamshell box.
