MORRIS, WILLIAM

The Life and Death of Jason: A Poem . . . Eighth Edition, Revised by the Author.

London: Ellis and White, 1882. One of 25 large paper copies. This is, correctly speaking, the fourth edition, revised. The third through seventh editions were all printed from the same plates. Buxton Forman 15; NCBEL III, 564. Royal 8vo, 19th century dark blue half morocco (hinges skillfully repaired), marbled sides and matching marbled endpapers, gilt lettering, untrimmed. ¶ Morris’ second book, an epic poetic treatment of the Jason legend, first published in 1867 and here extensively revised and augmented by Morris. Edges slightly rubbed; fine copy.
