London: Jackson and Walford, 1833. First English edition, published the same year in Boston under aslightly different title. Ford 580; Sabin 25507. 8vo, original patterned slate cloth and printed paper label. ¶ 128 personal letters from Franklin to relatives, friends, and notables (George Washington, John Paul Jones, etc), followed by annotations and informal writings. Contemporary ink signature of P. Bonhote, "ministre," on the front endpaper, with his marginal notes (in French) until page 29. Very good copy.
