III) Reprint of the 1907 monumental edition that contains more than 1,380 descriptive entries with facsimiles of books about the discovery and early explorations in America, published from the 15th to the 18th centuries. The catalogue follows a chronological order and the facsimile are as nearly the exact size of the originals, except when the size of the plate is bigger. The edition is an invaluable bibliographic reference on early Americana as well as thoroughly illustrating the development of the art of printing worldwide. Includes the location of other copies of the same books in about fifty libraries in the USA.
