Tomo I comprises the religious ritual and ceremonies in Mexico and Peru, describing in detail the human sacrifices, their sumptuous temples, the lives and costumes of their priests and priestesses. Tomo II contains historic descriptions of the various kingdoms, their traditions regarding education, administration, matrimony and death. The author based his texts in the "Relaciones" letters sent to the Catholic King and Queen of Spain by the conquerors
