Shorter, with affectionate regards from Thos. J. Wise New Year's Eve, 1911"; with Shorter's large bookplate on the front pastedown. Wise 138: "The manuscript is in my own collection." Original gray wrappers bound into three-quarter black calf and boards, gilt title on upper board, author's name in gilt on spine. Several nicks on spine, internally fine.
