Pencil notations on page 47, which are about the meeting time and place for the (Chickasaw) Supreme Court, leads one to believe with the markings on the front cover this was the courts copy. The Chickasaws were a negro slave-holding nation, who had joined with the Confederate States. This collection contains the 1866 treaty with the United States, which includes the freeing of slaves. OCLC lists copies at YUS, LNN, LAW, KUK, LNL, HVL, MLL, ODH. Hargrett adds Chicago Law Institute, Kansas Historical, Michigan Univ.
