Fourth edition (originally published in Amsterdam, 1637), but the first to include the revisions and additions by the Nuremberg physician G.A. Mercklin. The first part of the work is an alphabetical list of authors and their works; the second part is a subject index. Garrison-Morton 6744 (for the first edition): “Van der Linden’s book was at the time of its appearance the most complete medical bibliography yet produced … G.A. Mercklin published a considerably expanded version in 1686.” Nuremberg: J.G. Endter, 1686. Thick 4to. Two parts in one volume: (24), 1097, (59); (6), 160, (2) pp. [printed double-column]. Engraved frontispiece. Later panelled calf (corners worn), recently rebacked, new garish spine label; old institutional stamps on several leaves. frontispiece and title page re-margined, text block browned in places. Still a good solid copy.
