Advising the postmaster of a new address for her family in an autographnote, signed 10 June 1868, from "Pocaho (Near Tarrytown, New York)."
8vo. One page, in full: "Will the Post Master please see that every thing to our name - for any of the family - is sent to Box 090, New York Post Office, until further notice." Accompanied by: another autograph note signed (8 March 1898), inviting a friend to lunch and forwarding a book (8vo, one page; affixed along the edge to an album leaf that also holds a newspaper clipping concerning Whitman and Oregon), a clipped signature, dated "June, 1884," two cartes-de-visite, one an engraving by Prang the other a studio photograph, a portrait engraving (5 3/8 x 4 inches), and a commemorative campaign coin (1856) "Col. John C. Fremont / Jessie's Choice" (recto) "Fremont & Dayton / The People's Choice" (verso) on a red ribbon. "In her husband's unsuccessful campaign for the presidency (1856) her charm was exploited until 'Fremont and Jessie' seemed to constitute the Republican ticket rather than Fremont and Dayton" (DAB). Some traces of mounting on the versos of the three portraits, but a very good lot.
