1917 Altogether 6 issues, 271, 224 pp., of the luxuriously presented German serial edited by Theodor Tagger (also known as Ferdinand Bruckner), with literary contributions from Franz Kafka, Herman Hesse, and Alfred Döblin among others, the serial is heavily illustrated throughout with original lithographs, etchings, and woodcuts by noted German Expressionist artists including Max Pechstein, Michel Fingesten, Rudolf Genin, Walter Gramatte, Rudolph Grossmann, Willy Jaeckel, Hans Meid, Max Pechstein, A.H. Pellegrini, Ernst Pickardt, Wilhelm Pluennecke, Edwin Scharff, Adolf Schinnerer, Eugen Spiro, O.Th.W. Stein, Georg Tappert, and Ines Wetzel, many of which are signed, also included is the 11 pp. announcement of the serial, printed in May 1917, which is also illustrated. Large 4to. Illustrated wrpps., each vol. is housed in a boards portfolio, edges rubbed, covers slightly stained, some with light notes in pencil on front. Berlin 1917-1919. One of 235 copies.
