Collection of Avant Garde Postcard Art from the 1970's and 1980's.

A remarkable collection of almost 900 postcards created by a host of renowned contemporary artists from Europe, the United States, and Canada. The sets (all sets complete) of cards were produced for a number of occasions, some in conjunction with exhibitions, and others for causes, such as a set devoted to the Polish Solidarity movement. Given the limited nature of the work and the consistently high production quality, most of the postcards can be considered to be original multiples. The artists represented in this collection include: Eric Andersen, Joseph Beuys, Anna Banana, Chris Burden, Daniel Burren, Ulysses Carrion, Henri Chopin, Robert Filliou, Dick Higgins, Dorothy Iannone, Barbara Kruger, and Sol Lewitt, among others. Many of the cards are from limited editions (ranging between 50-500 copies), some are signed by the artist. Various sizes, all housed in either envelopes or specially designed flexible boards portfolios.
