NY Harcourt, Brace (1948) First edition. One of an indeterminate, but relatively small number of copies bound in white cloth, lettered in black on the spine. Merton's bibliographer notes that the entire first printing consisted of 6000 copies. A nearly fine copy of Merton's autobiography, in d/w which light soiling to back panel, and some color restoration to spine ends. (Dell'Isola A7.a).
