LADIES' COSTUMES WITH TRANSFERABLE HEAD.

N.p., British? (c. 1900) Set of nine hand-drawn and aqua-tinted costumes, each matted separately, with the transferable head fitting into a slot at the neck. Seven of the cards measure 9 by 11 inches; the other two are 10 3/8 by 11 inches. Five of the matted costumes have been hinged together. The drawings include a figure sidesaddle on a horse, a figure reclining on a sofa, another in outdoor wear, and several in dresses holding fans, books, or pieces of music. One sheet has a repair patch and two closed tears not affecting the image, another has one small closed tear not affecting the image, and a few pieces show light soiling. Overall a fine set of a lovely and intriguing hand-colored item. (Paper dolls).
