Andoversford, Gloucestershire Whittington Press (1981) Quarto. (28) pp. One of twenty-five copies bound in vellum. Illustrated with two wood engravings by Hellmuth Weissenborn. Signed by the artist, R. George Thomas (writer of the introduction and editor of the author's letters and poems), and Myfanwy Thomas (the author's daughter). First appearing circa 1911 in a little-known magazine called "Orpheus," "The Chessplayer" describes a recurring, haunting dream using vivid language and Blake-like imagery. With red and black marbled endpapers which match the slipcase. Slight bowing to the vellum, else fine.
