Two Chaucer Leaves.

Berkeley Tamalpais Press 1965 Folio. (4) ff. One of 88 copies printed as a keepsake for the Roxburghe Club of San Francisco by Duncan H. Olmstead and Roger Levenson. Contains two leaves, one from the undated edition of Chaucer's works from around 1551 and one from the Kingston edition of 1561. In total, the leaves contain three six- and eight-line decorative initials. In 1963, the Book Club of California published its leaf book, The Book of Geoffrey Chaucer, with each copy containing a leaf from either the 1551 or 1561 editions. The remaining leaves from this endeavor were utilized to make up this keepsake. Faint scratches to front panel, light soil to one leaf, else fine in cream paper wrappers. (BCC #38b).
