Cox, Morris.

A Lay of Landscape.

(London) Gogmagog Press 1981-2 Folio. (11)ff. One of ten sets comprising the companion series to the twelve Colourprints from 1975. Contains 10 reverse/direct offset prints from natural specimens. As the title suggests, the texture, technique, and materials evoke leaves, weather, and landscape. Morris Cox, using a specimen as a printing surface, faced the constant problem as we see here in the tenth composition marked "Unfinished", where the leaves began to crumble mid-process. Each composition is signed, titled, and numbered by Cox. Printed on white Japanese paper. Enclosed in a quarter morocco and Japanese paper solander box, which is slightly bowed, else very fine. (Chambers 34).
