With one engraved title page and musical notations in the Psalter. Concludes with a section of Ecclesiastical prayers. This is a Protestant binding, named for the booksellers who operated outside the Charenton Protestant Temple in the seventeenth century. The binding is in brown morocco featuring intricate gilt strapwork and pointillè on both panels. Spine gilt in six compartments, all edges gilt. This was St. John Hornby's copy, the owner of the Ashendene Press, with his booklabel and bookplate. Expert repair along outer rear hinge, else a nice, attractive copy that is quite clean internally and with ample margins. (Protestant Binding).
