The present copy stands on its own, demonstrating the working class types of Paris with their stereotypical attributes and dress. Illustrated with twenty-nine handcolored plates, which include the signed title page. "The Dog Dealer" plate is a fold-out. In a later binding of full navy morocco with gilt titling to front and spine, elaborate gilt dentelles, and marbled endpapers. Very light, scant soiling to page edges, else a very fine copy.
