Quantin 1882 Small quarto. 143 pp. Illustrated by Paul Avril in black and white, monochrome, and full color, including a fanciful color frontispiece, a dramatic gilt-on-black tail-piece, numerous interior illustrations in various styles, and rococo border work. The book -- a study of women's decorative fans throughout history -- is bound in full navy morocco by Emile Rousselle with a triple gilt rule border to the covers, elaborate gilt dentelles, and gilt decorations to the spine within five compartments. Slight fading to spine, else a very fine copy of a handsome volume. T.e.g.
