Portland, Maine 1850 Octavo. xxx, 213, (24) pp. First American edition. One of 25 deluxe copies printed on Japan vellum and signed by the publisher, Thomas Mosher. The collected volumes of the famed journal of the Pre-Raphaelite group that included Dante Gabriel Rossetti, William Holman Hunt, John Everett Millais, and other artists and writers not formally members of the group but associated with it, such as William Morris and Ford Madox Brown. Inlcudes a number of full-page illustrations. Bound in plain white boards, with a tri-fold dust jacket featuring a woodcut floral border to the front panel and spine designed by Charles Ricketts, taken from an edition of The Poems of Sir John Suckling. Dust jacket also with black and red lettering to front panel and spine. Some toning to spine, else nearly fine.
