WRIGHT, FRANK LLOYD.
The Japanese Print. An Interpretation.
Chicago Ralph Fletcher Seymour 1912 Octavo. (36) pp. One of approximately fifty copies comprising adeluxe edition. Printed on Japan vellum, with handmade Japanese endleaves. Cover title printed in dark blue, with crane design printed in olive green. This copy has been inscribed by Wright on the initial blank. This is Wright's first book of published prose, and he was apparently so displeased with the first edition the he destroyed all but a few copies. Wright's bibliographer notes that the book was printed by Seymour three times in 1912, and posits this deluxe copy as the likely second printing. Apart from a minute nick to the spine foot, this is a fine copy in the original printed boards. (Sweeney 109, Starosciak 5).
