MUSICAL ALBUM.

Small quarto. A photo album consisting of nine thick, stiff cardboard leaves bearing photo compartments of various sizes and shapes, the recto side of the leaves decorated with colorful floral illustrations. At the back of the album is a music box that is gilded on the edges to blend in with the leaves of the album. The drum, tines, and other mechanisms of the player can be seen through a clear plastic window on the top panel of the box. When the album's fore-edge clasp is extended and the book opened, the music box begins to play, stopping when the album is closed. Bound in full brown leather, tooled in blind and gilt. Album rebacked, leather split along upper hinge and part of top edge, some rubbing to other extremities. Musical box in fine working order.
