Ausable Forks, NY 1939 Written on one side of Kent's Ausable Forks letterhead, which features a small illustration by the artist printed in red at the head of the page. The letter, dated March 24, 1939, shows Kent's quick wit in replying to a collector: "I can only afford to give away what I can do hastily; and what I do hastily is not good enough to give away." Includes addressed envelope bearing 3-cent Thomas Jefferson stamp. Faint fold lines in letter, else very fine.
